What we're looking for
We are seeking a highly qualified full-time lawyer based in Kosovo to manage a broad range of legal responsibilities. This role involves extensive work with Local Legislation Analysis, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), contracts, and various legal forms within Kosovo, while also handling U.S. contracts related to telehealth, such as Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Business Associate Agreements (BAA), Requests for Proposals (RFP), and other essential legal documents. The candidate will serve as the legal backbone of our operations, ensuring compliance with local and international laws.
The candidate must have the required experience and license to represent the company in Kosovo Courts in all matters in particular in cases that arise from employment relationships. The individual must also possess the necessary experience to negotiate contractual terms with US counterparts regarding the aforementioned agreements.
Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a wide range of contracts, including NDAs, vendor agreements, employment contracts, and other legal documents in both Kosovo and U.S. jurisdictions.
- U.S. Contract Expertise: Provide expert legal advice and support in the preparation and management of U.S. contracts, particularly those specific to the telehealth industry, such as EULA, DUA, ToU, MSA, SLA, BAA, RFP, NDA, and all other sector-related agreements.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure the company's compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements in both Kosovo and the U.S. This includes monitoring legal risks and implementing necessary legal controls and procedures.
- Representation: Represent the company in public institutions, courts, and other legal and regulatory bodies as needed. This includes handling disputes, litigation, and negotiations with third parties, ensuring the company’s interests are effectively protected.
- Internal Legal Support: Collaborate closely with various Departments to provide ongoing legal support, including advising on company policies, employee relations, intellectual property matters, and other legal inquiries.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Conduct regular legal audits and provide training to staff on legal best practices and compliance issues.
- Policy Development: Assist in the creation, review, and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure they align with legal requirements and best practices.
- Cross-Border Legal Coordination: If necessary, work with external legal counsel, both in Kosovo and the U.S., to ensure the smooth handling of complex legal issues that span multiple jurisdictions.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal documentation and records, ensuring that all legal activities are well-documented and accessible for future reference.
- Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research to stay updated on the latest legal trends, regulations, and best practices that could impact the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B or equivalent); a Master’s degree or specialization in contract law, international law, or corporate law is a plus.
